Reading Response why colleges shower their students with A’s by Brent staples

The reading is talking about colleges just handing out A's to students that don't earn the grade. The audience  is colleges its trying to tell you what will happen when you just give the students a grade, and they have not put effort or earn the grade.

Reading response why colleges shower their students with A’s by Brent staples
In this essay colleges faced demanding customers, and stiff competition The community colleges and ivy league schools are guilty of just issuing students A’s. Sometimes they do this so classes don’t get cut. For example the university of phoenix was guilty of doing the same thing, and the critics compared it to a drive through restaurant. People back the would live with there grade they seem to appeal to lower grades they go through the dean. Teachers jobs are often at risk, because of the student telling on them, about there grade. Staples said an ivy league professor said recently if ‘’ tenure disappeared universities would be free to sell diplomas outright’’. One of the way to change how they calculate grade point average.

I think that colleges need to be careful of just not just giving students A’s , and they need to ,make sure that they earn it. The parents and students are demanding that they get their money worth’s.  If the students is not earning the grade, and the teacher is handing out grades then that makes the degree less valued. The crushing debt the y are treating like life and death. I thinks there need to be a different approach to this problem  not rise the student grade until he or she can proved that they did the work. I think if you are just giving students grades then what is the point of doing the work then. I would say suing is not good just, because of your grade you get the grade you earn then if you don’t like it then do better on the other assignments. There should not be any freebees you have to work hard if you want your grade good.
