How can you change your mind from fixed to growth?
Success can come in different forms. For me success is always doing your best. For me success comes in a form for me trying to complete college. I would love to walk across that stage at graduation one day that would be on of my goals. This success of graduation is important to show my future kids and grandkids of my success. How can you change your mind from fixed to growth ?
During the test your mindset quiz i took Interactive quiz fixed vs. Growth mindsets. The quiz had many questions to see if you have a fixed or growth mindset, for instance talent is something you can develop questions like this test you to see what your mindset you have. If you have a fixed mindset are you good or not good at something based on your inherent nature.
I started my search with Even Geniuses Work Hard by Dweck who compares growth, and fixed mindsets she says individuals with a fixed mindset believe that their intelligence is simplify an inborn trait they have a certain amount, and that’s that. Dweck says “A growth mindset is they believe that they can develop their intelligence over time.
Dweck conducted research about the two different mindsets. The students with a growth mindset tackle the work with be happy. The ones with a fixed mindset they don’t like learning new things. The teachers have a part of this also the teachers should create a growth mindset culture. If the teachers praise the students and encouragement also helps the students succeed. The teachers should also create lessons that can help the students grow their mind. The teachers can create types of tasks that can help there long term achievement. The task has to challenge the students. If you build a culture in the classroom that can grow your mind. The learning tasks should changeling every student.
In Dr. Dweck’s Research Into Growth Mindset Changed Education Forever she did research on the brain plasticity has shown how connectivity between neurons can change with experience. The researchers discovered that the increase in neural growth by the actions we take like strategies, asking questions, practicing, and following good nutrition and sleep habits. The researchers asked a question can we change our mindset, and how? Dweck and the researchers began a series of interventions and studies that prove we can indeed change a person mindset from fixed to growth mindset, and when we do, it leads to increased motivation and achievement. For example, seventh graders who were taught that intelligence is malleable shown how the brain grows with effort showed a clear increase in math grades. They noticed that a teacher had an impact on the student’s mindset after they taught the lesson.
Dr. Dweck and her collogues do this research with the brain plasticity trying to see if

like good strategies, asking questions, practicing, and good nutrition and sleep habits. The students that have a growth mindset they can take on changeling and learn from them, and increase there abilities and there achievement. One way to know if you have fixed mindset tendencies is to work to become more of a growth mindset. This studied proved that that your mindset can change. There mindset changed, because they were opining up their mind, and most learning new things.
In Conquering The Freshman Fear Of Failure the author talks about how Kirp graduated high school on Long Island, and how most of the students don’t go to college. Kirp decided to go, because he wanted to better his education. Many college freshmen doubt they have the brainpower, and social adeptness to do good in college. The fear of failure hits poor minorities community, and first-generation college students the most. The incoming freshman read an experiment at a unnamed school that kirp called “Flagship State” the students read how the upperclassman of how they felt snubbed by there classmates, and intimidated by their teachers there kirp began to turn around when they reached out to the teacher and mad new friends. Kirp talks about how he made a bad grade on the test one time, and he thought it was the end of the world the teacher was trying to set a high standard.
I can relate what Kirp was saying, because I was scared of college I though i was going to fail test. If I was to fell the test I thought it was the end of the world. If you do bad would dust it off and try again on the next test. I think that its crazy not to go to college after high school. Most won’t because like Kirp s was trying to say that freshman college was scared of doing bad in college. I can also relate to doing bad on test i would worry of about trying not to fail, and i finally did awesome on a test, and I was proud of myself. In my opinion what kirp was saying yeah you are going to fail, but don’t worry about it just try to better next time. Failure was not a option for me I had to pass I refused to fail I got up, and i went back to work. Kirp is also saying that college is not easy. You have to tell yourself that you are going to do good etcetera. You have you speak positive.
In Embracing The Near Win Sarah Lewis her first job was at the Museum Of Modern Art looking back on the painter Elizabeth Murray. Murray did not believe that she meet her own mark on the world. She did not see the value in the painting so she threw it out, and her neighbor took the painting, because she saw the value in the painting. Success is in a moment, but you can change success into mastery. The girls was at the alethic complex practicing targets and she did not do good, and she kept trying get the near win. They kept on trying until they got it this went on for three hours until the girls got the win. Success is hit that ring by mastery is that you can do the same thing over, and over again.
Sarah is trying to say mastery is doing the same thing over, and over. Success you can hit the target but you have not mastered it yet. For example, the quarterback spend all of practice trying to get better, and improve his technique to a accomplish the next challenge that might come his way. He is might mess up and keep trying then he finally get it, and get the win for team. It’s possible to be success at something, but you have not mastered that yet. If you want to master something you have to keep trying until you get the win.
In conclusion, you can grow your mind to be a growth mindset. In order for it to change from fixed to growth is you have to be wiling to learn new things. By you doing this you are opening your mind and not being stuck on a fixed mindset. I think you can start off at fixed and later change to growth mindset.
